[Project 365] Day 4: Halloween!

This is my friend's halloween costume. I loved the little thing she was wearing on her hip. She was SoHyun of 4Minute. I thought it was cute and I took a picture it. Halloween is fun, but I've gotten over it. I grew up. I guess I won't get into it much until I get into Halloween parties.

[Project 365] Day 3: Do I Read Too Much?

This is my bookshelf. As you can see, I own a lot of books. It's a little decieving though, because there's a row of books behind each of the three rows you see. Also, a shelf below, that isn't pictured, carries my manga magazines and my manga books. I read a lot and have started reading since I was in grade 1? I never liked picture books as a kid, but once I started reading novels, I just couldn't stop and grew into the YA books I read now.

[365 Project] Day 2: Blue Skies and the Wind in my Hair

This was the sky today. It was gorgeous and I was bored, waiting for my brother to come out of Spanish class, after I finished my own French class. Black and white just seemed to make it more dramatic. Anyways, it was somewhat of a cold day today, not as much as other places in the world, where I heard it was snowing. I love this type of cold, just before winter day.

Clinique Mini Haul

I've actually had these products for a while now, I just didn't get around to posting the pictures because I didn't feel like editing them. Anyways. here we go!
This is a bag that came with the gift set from Clinique. It's a gorgeous pattern, don't you think? Not really Fall or Winter bag. It's more Spring and Summer.

As you can see, this is an eyeshadow duo. The one on the left is called Frosted Blossom and the one on the right is a shade from a different trio.

This lipstick is on the end of a duo and it's actually pretty small. It's in the shade 33 Raspberry Glace.
On the other end of the duo is. . .

Yesss! It's a mascara. I actually already have another one of this, so it's just like a refill for me. I don't use it much anymore because I don't have an eyelash curler and this doesn't hold my eyelashes up when I pathetically try to curl them with the brush. I currently use Maybelline's Colossal Volum' Express Waterproof in black.

I also got a Clinique Toner . . .

And this is the reason why I have this whole set anyways. I needed a new bottle of this moisturizer. I only use this and I love it. I used to use other stuff, which obivously wasn't as good as this daily moisturizer.

Anyways. That's it for my mini haul. C:

[365 Project] Day 1: Of Imagination

So I decided to jump on the bandwagon and do my own Project 365. I'll try to post a picture every day and thus document my life as this blog is supposed to do.

This is a drawing I did a while ago, and it's the piece of art that I'm most proud of. You don't see everything in this photo, but you do see her face. This is a drawing of my character, Astaraya Kuroyume. You can totally see the faults in the drawing, but I love it still. I did actually use makeup on this art. The skin colour is cheap foundation I had. The lips were done with a nail polish and a lipstick. The iris was done with an eyeshadow and I actually did her eye makeup with eyeshadow too. Her eyelashes have some eyeliner in it too. This is something that I'm proud of and it represents a milestone in my artistic abilities.

Mmmmm, pastries C:

I am a massive pastries buff and I love eating cake and other types of fancy pastries and cakes that are sweet of course. What inspired this post was eating just now, a slice of black forest cake and a slice of chocolate roulade. It was delicious and obviously, no picture of them means that I devoured them before I got the chance to take a picture.

I'll be going to Paris and Europe in the Summer, so I'm somewhat brushing up and making a list on the pastries I want to devour while over there.

Paris means, obviously, Laduree. Laduree makes the most fabulous macarons and I don't think I'll be able to visit the store when I'm in New York, so Paris is definitely the perfect time.

I've heard that the Salt Caramel flavour is delicious. Definitely on my to try list. C:

On the subject of Macarons, it wouldn't hurt to try out Pierre Herme's macarons either. This one looks delicious too. Although these have more filling than the ones by Laduree.

This is a Mont Blanc, a tart base and chesnut cream spiraled around it like in this one. I have never tried chesnuts before, so this will be interesting to have. I don't know whether or not I would like chesnuts, but I would be willing to give it a try. Although if I don't like it, this dessert will be an interesting sight, no?

This is an apple galette. It does look like an apple pie, but it's still on my to try list even though I'm totally over apple pie. This is like a much thinner, prettier and open sister to the apple pie.
As you can see here. It's open faced and the apples are pretty and caramelized. mmm.

And these are the ever classic madeleines. I never knew what to make of these cookies. Should they be hard, or are they soft, because they're such thick cookies. Are they going to be cake-like inside, or are they just going to crumble? Anyways. I've never tried one of these and I would like to.

I guess that's it for now. I'm quite sure there will be a part 2 to this post whenever I get the inspiration of food again. I should probably get to work now.

Books and guitars

So. I've amassed a collection of six books that I have yet to read. They're all YA books of course. What else would I read? I really want to read them, but I don't have the time. I guess I'll have to wait until Christmas Break to read them. I'm sure by then, I would have collected more books. Oh well.
And these are the books! Most of them are things that I've been looking at on GoodReads and they just so happened to be on sale, so I seized the moment. (rather than Carpe Diem ;D )

So the books include:
  • Another Faust by Daniel and Dina Nayiri
  • Geek Abroad by Piper Banks (Sequel to Geek High)
  • The Fallen 3 End of Days by Thomas E. Sniegoski (Part of the Fallen series)
  • The Remarkable Life and Times of Eliza Rose by Mary Hooper
  • Fire by Kristin Cashore (Companion to Graceling)
  • Ophelia by Lisa Klein
I will look forward to reading them. and I'll probably post a review for each?

Also. I'm trying to learn guitar. yayyy

Now obviously, I'm not learning the Electric guitar. This is just one of the photos I'm planning on using for my music art project. Anyways. I was learning how to play a couple chords from my friends and now I'm seriously considering learning. It's not hard to fit it into my schedule. Anyways, I'll update to see how things go.

Oh! I almost forgot. I'm also winning an award for being on Honour Roll. I can't wait to see what the award ceremony looks like!

NEW YORK CITY BABY!

I am so excited that you cannot even imagine. So at my school, every year, there's an art trip to NEW YORK CITY. It's such a fabulous trip that I was just dying over the itinerary. I've been to New York before, obviously, but it was so brief that I never really got the chance to enjoy it. I mostly stayed on Long Island with my extended family and briefly drove around Manhattan, but that was it. I never really did any of the fab touristy things that New York has to offer.
And so, I present to you, my trip. We'll be staying at a hotel in TIMES SQUARE. RIGHT IN ALL THE TOURIST-YNESS! We get to see a Broadway show! We get to see the lights of Manhattan from the Empire State Buliding. We get to see the beautiful artwork in the museums. We get to go stomping around SoHo and Manhattan and Fifth Avenue for SHOPPING. This is all so iconic and I'm so fabulously excited.

Actually, the most exciting thing by far, is the food trucks that I know I will be seeing around New York. Where I live, there are no food trucks like the ones you see on TV on Eat St. It's just plain old hot dog carts. Not exciting at all

Last year, the trip got canceled because not enough people were going. I'll be absolutely devastated  if I can't go. I'll literally die. Oh God. I can't even think about it. Anyways.

If I do go, PICTURES GALORE baby. You will see the fabulousness I see in the beautiful city of New York!

Nail Polish Mini Haul and nail design.

So as you may or may not now, I'm a total nail polish junkie. I absolutely adore the stuff and my mom just thinks I'm crazy for owning so many bottles. Hey, it's my money not yours, right? Anyways. It's Thanksgiving in Canada and therefore, there's a long weekend! Yay! I heard it's Colombus Day down in the states. Anyone mind explaining what that's about to me? Thanks. :)

Anyways. so since it was the long weekend, I went down to Buffalo, New York to get some shopping done. Now, beside my mini haul of nail polish, I did get some other stuff, namely a shirt and a pair of pants from Aeropostale and four books that were on major discount. Mmkay. Anyways. So here's my nail polish design at the moment. I'm such a messy painter. Gosh.

TaDa! Leopard Print! My totally ugly fingers! Anyways. I painted my ugly, long nails yesterday because I was making coffee bean bracelets. Yumm. My hands will forever smell like coffee. Anyways. It was for the Environmental Club I'm a part of at school. We make them every year and they're good sellers.

Also, I was making a goal to use the bottles of polish that I hadn't tried yet, but had been sitting in my massively messy box of polish. If you can't tell, the base is grey, and there's mint green, coral and hot pink spots.

The brands i used are:
  • E.L.F. Fire Coral
  • Wet n' Wild Blazed
  • Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Wet Cement
  • Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Mint Sorbet
  • Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Black Stiletto
  • N.Y.C. Extra Shiny Top Coat
  • OPI Nail Envy
Black Stiletto isn't exactly the best black around, but I thought I'd use it up before I go out and buy a better one. I have heard that the American brand, Sinful Colours has a gorgeous black.

Anyways. Mini Haul. Right.

Yes, It's just two. Suprisingly enough. Anyways. The Revlon one on the right, is the shade Creme Brulee. It's a gorgeous champagne-y gold colour. I've been looking for a good champagne. The one on the left is called Private Viewing. It's a nude-y, rosy colour. I'll possibly use those in the future. :)
